Palate is a about the unveiling of food, one tasting at a time. The dishes are meant to be eaten on while stacked. As you finish the food on the top dish, you take that layer off to reveal the next dish below. 

Palate is designed so each plate seals off smells coming from the dish below. The concave surface on top acts as a plate, while the inverted bowl shape seals off visual associations and smells coming from the dish below.


While the design brief required metal spinning process, the way these dishes stack required there to be an undercut. The proposal for the CNC-milled mold is shown here.
